Nan was born to Hugh and Harriett Cass in Phoenix, Arizona on October 30, 1920. She is a graduate of Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles.


She sold Christmas Cards for many years for Henri Fayette/Chryson's. Nan was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, PTA, bible study, and St. Luke's of the Mountains Episcopal alter guild. Nan lived for over forty years in Glendale, California before moving to Visalia and finally to Tiburon, where she died on May 1, 2010.


Nan will be remembered most for her gregariousness, her frugality, her warm blue eyes, her faith, and her kindness to other people.


Nan is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Alvin; both her parents; her brother, Martin; her daughter-in-law, Marilyn (Michael's first wife); and her grandson, Matthew Wollam. She is survived by her three children, Michael and his wife Pamela (living iin Georgia), Nan Marie Wollam and her husband Buzz, and her youngest son, Steven and his wife Kim. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.


Burial Services will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Hollywood Hills on Monday, May 10, 2010 at 12:30 p.m.
