Mrs. Anton Casper, 77, a resident of the Town of Empire for many years, died at 8:10 a. m. today at St. Agnes hospital after several months of illness. The Casper home is on Route 3.
The former Catherine Freund was born July 9, 1876, at Peter. the daughter of John and Elizabeth Freund. and lived there until her marriage on May 12, 1908 Mr. and Mrs. Casper lived for a few years at Stockbridge before moving to the Town of Empire. Mrs. Casper was a member of St. Mary's church and its Altar Society.
Surviving are a son, Frank Casper, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Michael Washbush and Mrs. Hubert Halfman, and three brothers, Hubert, Jake, and Theodore Freund,all of the city. Her husband, a sister, Mrs. Ewald Schneider. and three brothers, Gorge, Carl and Michael Freund preceded her in death.
The body of Mrs. Casper will be in state at the Zacherl Funeral home after 7 p. m. today. Funeral seryices will be held there Saturday at 8:30 a. m. and at 9 a. m. at St. Mary's church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
