Flavil Hall Caskey, 89, of Lubbock was born in Grapeland on Jan. 8, 1918, and died on Feb. 15, 2007, at his home. Graveside services were held Saturday, Feb. 17th at 1 p.m. at the Guiceland Cemetery in Grapeland. Speaking at the service were Lynn Staggs and Kelly Staggs.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie Claire Caskey; a daughter, Celia Staggs and husband Lynn; and three grandchildren, Carrie Raymond and husband Jett, Nicci Staggs, and Kelly Staggs.

A daughter, Debra Kay Bosworth, preceded Flavil in death.

Flavil was a member of the Church of Christ where he served as a deacon for many years in Tyler. He was a 50-year Mason.

Flavil was veteran of World War II, where he served in the United States Air Force. He was proud of his service to his country and often talked about it.

Family was very important to him and especially his grandchildren. His family and friends will miss him.
