Nurse Critical After Lawrence Blaze
A 55-year-old nurse from Salem, Mass., remained in critical condition in Helene Fuld Hospital's intensive care unit suffering from burns she received in a Lawrence Township fire on Friday.
Mrs. Billie Bordeau [sic.] was a guest in the 55 Vermont Avenue home of Mitchell Longevin, 84 and his 82 year-old wife Rebecca when fire broke out about 10 a.m. Friday.
Mrs. Bordeau [sic.] and Mr. and Mrs. Longevin were rescued from the blazing home by John Napierkowski, 34, of 420 St. Joe's Avenue and a neighbor of the victim, 65 year-old Anthony Andrews of 60 Vermont Avenue.
Both the Longevins were hospitalized where their condition was listed as satisfactory. Mercer County Fire Marshal John Dempster is investigating the blaze which reportedly started in living room furniture.
