LUBBOCK- Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Jean Bingham, 88, of Lubbock this evening, September 11, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Resthaven Memorial Park with memorial services following at 4 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church.

Our beloved Mama Jean went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 10, 2012. She was born December 8, 1923 to the late William Guy and Jewell (Pillans) Casey in Lubbock. She graduated from Lubbock High School and Texas Tech University with a bachelor's degree in education. Jean taught elementary school for the Post and Slaton School Districts. Jean married V.F. "Bing" Bingham on January 27, 1946 in Lubbock. Jean was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Esther Sunday School Class, Jolly Quilters, Daughters of the Pioneer Study Club, Kappa Kappa Iota, Lubbock and Slaton Retired Teachers Association and the Lubbock Women's Club.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bing; her brother, Garland Casey; and her son-in-law, David Elliott. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Ann Elliott; a son, Michael Bruce Bingham and wife Sharon all of Lubbock; three grandchildren, John David Elliott and wife Cherissa of Frisco, Melody Harris and husband Kurt of San Antonio, and Michael Dale Bingham and wife Lee Anne of Plano; three great-grandchildren, Lily Harris, Charis Elliott and Wells Michael Bingham; and a brother, Clifton Casey and wife Kathrine of Lubbock.
