Patricia R. Brown, 64, of Jacksonville died Friday morning, February 15, 2002 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. She was born on December 27, 1937 at Our Saviours Hospital in Jacksonville, the daughter of James T. and Alma M. Connolly Casey. She married Walter B. Brown, Jr. on September 24, 1966 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Murrayville and he survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Janet E. (fiance, Robert Reddish) Brown of Jacksonville; two sons, James J. (wife, Melissa A.) Brown of Lincoln and John Walter (fiance, Stacy Dressler) Brown of Bloomington; four grandchildren; four sisters, Sr. Elizabeth Marie of Springfield, Agnes (husband, James) Gaw of Elmhurst, Frances Lawless and Janet (husband, Paul) Hansen, both of Franklin; and three brothers, Tom (wife, Joyce) Casey of Murrayville, David Casey of Jacksonville and Paul (wife, Rachel) Casey of White Hall.
She had been a telephone operator with G.T.E. for 33 years and later worked as switchboard operator at Passavant Hospital. She currently took great pleasure in her work in the cafeteria at Jefferson School in Jacksonville, where she cherished her daily interactions with the students. She was a member of the Church of Our Saviour and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking and playing bingo, but her greatest joy came from her relationships with her family and her time spent with her grandchildren.
Services were entrusted to Williamson Funeral Home of Jacksonville, Illinois.
