Birth: Apr. 19, 1878
Sherman
Grayson County
Texas, USA
Death: Dec. 11, 1951
Neck City
Jasper County
Missouri, USA

Gene's early family history was listed as unknown on his death certificate.

He died at 10:30 o'clock on the night of December 11, 1951 of myocardial failure and coronary occlusion.
Dr. Glenn Oney, D. O.
Alba, MO was the attending physician.

Arrangements were handled by Johnston-Arnce-Simpson Mortuary in Webb City, Missouri

There was no gravestone marker placed at his grave.

Gene was a mail carrier and when he retired, both he and Marie his wife, being Jehovah's Witnesses, decided to spend their full time in the ministry going door to door.
They were known then as Special Pioneers, putting at least 120 hours a month in the door to door ministry.
They came into contact, and began studying the Bible with many people in the midwest tri-state area of Southwest Missouri, Southeast Kansas and Southeast Oklahoma. They established many of the congregations and Kingdom Halls that are still active. Baxter Springs, Kansas; Miami, Oklahoma; Carthage, Missouri; Neosho, Missouri to name some.

Both Gene and Marie were of the spirit annointed and had the heavenly hope.
Rom. 8:14, 16, 17: "All who are led by God's spirit, these are God's sons. The spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are God's children. If, then, we are children, we are also heirs: heirs indeed of God, but joint heirs with Christ, provided we suffer together that we may also be glorified together." (At the time this was written it was true that all who were led by God's spirit were God's sons whose hope was that they would be glorified with Christ. But this had not always been true. Luke 1:15 says that John the Baptizer would be filled with holy spirit, but Matthew 11:11 makes clear that he will not share in the glory of the heavenly Kingdom. So, too, after the gathering of the heirs of the heavenly Kingdom, there would be others who would serve God as followers of his Son and yet not share in heavenly glory.)
