Ruthe V. Case, 82, of 6505 County Highway 128, Upper Sandusky, died at 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2005, in Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky.
She was born Oct. 10, 1922, to Frederick and Daisy (Hahn) Mayer in Lima and they are deceased. She married Robert W. Case Feb. 22, 1947, in Sycamore, and he survives.
Other survivors include: two children, Mrs. Stephan (Roberta) Ekleberry of Avon Lake, Ohio, and Penny Case of rural Upper Sandusky; two granddaughters, Benita Bintz and Lisa Chatlos; and five great-grandchildren.
A son, Jack F. Case, died July 17, 1998; and a brother, Mr. Richard Mayer is also deceased.
She was a 1940 graduate of Lima South High School, attended Bluffton College and DePaul University. She was a bookkeeper at Daybrook and Stephan Lumber, Upper Sandusky. She was a member of the Sycamore United Church of Christ where she was a former financial secretary, a former Guild President and a former Sunday School teacher. She was Past President of Wyandot County Home Extension; Past Chief Pythian Sisters, Sycamore; Past Matron of Warpole Chapter 366, OES Upper Sandusky; and Past District Deputy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of OES. She was a member of Piecemakers Quilt Club, Ladies Oriental Shrine, Columbus, Ohio; member of Star Players; and member of Sycamore Historical Society. Hobbies -loved to travel including all 50 states and loved to quilt.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005, in Sycamore United Church of Christ with the Rev. Diane Thomas and the Rev. Charles Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore.
Visitation hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2005, in the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, where an Eastern Star Service will be conducted at 7:45 p.m. The body will also lie in state from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sycamore United Church of Christ, Warpole Chapter 366 OES, or Fairhaven Community.
