"Gladys M. Dunbar, 91, of 1417 Mound, died Nov. 1 at William Newton Memorial Hospital.
"Born at Shawnee, Okla., on June 17, 1896, she was the daughter of John and Alverda Ward Case. She was raised and educated in the Wilmot area by her adoptive parents, William and Carrie Case. After teaching school in the Atlanta area for a short time, she was married to Dr. Milton J. Dunbar on Aug. 11, 1917, in Winfield.
"The couple lived in Atlanta several years before moving to Winfield in the mid-1920's. Dunbar preceded her in death in 1963.
"Mrs. Dunbar was a member of the First Christian Church, Queen City Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, Social Order of Beauceant, Rossetti Circle and the Cowley County Fair Auxiliary.
"Survivors include a son, Stanley Dunbar, Winfield; a daughter, Mrs. Bruce G. (Dorothy) Smith, Arkansas City; two sisters, Doris Hatfield, Flint, Mich., Mary Atkinson, Centralia, Mo.; two grandsons and five great-grandchildren.
"Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church with interment in Highland Cemetery. Miles Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
"A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church and contributions may be made at the church of funeral home."
