Antonette M. (Casale) Byrne, 82, of Fairhaven and formerly of Brighton passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015, at the Atria of Fairhaven where she had resided for the past 8 years. She was the wife of the late John P. “Jack” Byrne.

Born and raised in Brighton, the daughter of the late Loreto and Maria Loretta (Pellegrini) Casale, she and her husband summered on West Island prior to retiring there in 1981. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Fairhaven.

Mrs. Byrne was a cafeteria manager for 20 years for the City of Boston School Department until her retirement.

She enjoyed weekly trips with the Buttonwood Seniors, BINGO and doing crafts. Antonette also took up painting after moving to the Atria.

She is survived by two sons, Jon Byrne and his companion Angelo Valente of Boston and Daniel Byrne and his fiancé Angela Courtney Holden of Beauford, SC; three daughters, Donna Fallon and her husband Frank of Acushnet, Catherine Byrne and Lillian Ciulla of West Bridgewater and Linda Donnelly and her former husband Stephen of Fairhaven; a sister, Josephine Casale of Dartmouth; seven grandchildren, David Donnelly and his wife Lani, Jonathan Donnelly and his fiancé Angelina Musto, Marianne Brodo and her husband Matthew, Michael Joseph and his wife Julie, Ashten and Nathan Byrne and Heather Feeny and her husband Tim; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Byrne was the sister of the late Daniel Casale.

Funeral Information

Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-8pm in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven. Her funeral service will be Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 11:00am followed by interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
