Virginia Mae "Ginny" Beck, 70, of 15852 Pleasant Valley Drive Pleasantville, died unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at her residence.
Ginny was born on April 8, 1940, in Titusville, a daughter of the late Ivan and Dorothy Redmond Caryl.
She was married to James L. Beck on Nov. 14, 1969, in Titusville. He preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 2003.
Ginny was a 1958 graduate of Pleasantville High School. She had been co-owner with her husband of J.L. Beck Drilling in Pleasantville. She was also co-owner of the former Village Diner in Pleasantville with Ron and Mary Ann Brown. She had also worked at the unemployment office in Oil City.
Ginny was a member of the Titusville Free Methodist Church, where she was involved with many church activities and committees. She was also a former member of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church.
She was a member of the Hydetown TOPS. She was an avid and competitive card and game player. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by the following children, Ronald Beck and wife Stephanie of Pleasantville, David Beck of Pleasantville, Steve Beck and wife Sue of Titusville, and Cinda Roebuck of Indiana, Pa.; two granddaughters, Stephanie Sliker and husband Dan of Tionesta and Jackie Lane and husband Jason of Townville; four great-grandchildren, Dane and Dean Sliker, Jocelynn and Jerad Lane; a brother, Carey Caryl and wife Carol of Pleasantville; two sistersin law, Jo Ann Carroll of Dade City, Fla., and Shirley Pierce of Tennessee; an aunt, Jean Beck of Pleasantville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Colyn Carroll.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville.
Further visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Titusville Free Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the church. Rev. Timothy Maybray, pastor, will officiate.
Interment will be in Jerusalem Corners Cemetery in Pleasantville.
