In 1859 she was united in marriage with George D. Brown, then residing in Utica and soon thereafter they took up their residence in Lowville. Thirty four years ago Mr. and Mrs. Brown removed to Syracuse and since the death of her husband Mrs. Brown had resided with her youngest son, Fred H. Brown.
Three children were born to George and Mary Cary Brown, two of whom survive.
Surviving are two sons, Fred H. Brown and Cary L. Brown, both of Syracuse; three grandchildren, Nina Mae Brown, Charles Frederick Brown and Gideon E. Brown, Syracuse.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Mrs. Hattie Brown Vannamee in 1903.
