Charlene Ann Cartwright passed away Saturday, June 27th peacefully at home. She was 80 years old. Charlene was born on October 10, 1934 in Tallulah, Louisiana to Charlie and Janie Bell Miller.

Charlene was a long time resident of Muskogee. She worked at Muskogee Public Schools for 17 years as a cook.

Charlene enjoyed raising her family, spending time with them and making each one feel loved and special. She loved to read, garden and loved attending church. She had a great love for her church family at Christian Chapel and enjoyed serving the Lord. She had such a gentle soul and will be greatly missed!

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jerry Cartwright, four sisters, Leona, Dorothy, Shirley Faye, and Betty Gaye, and a great granddaughter, Maggie Pulse.

She is survived by her husband of the home, David Cartwright, one son, Randy Cartwright and wife Cindy of Muskogee, one daughter, Cindy Pulse and husband Stephen of the home, five grandchildren, Joseph, Amanda, Christy and Krystal Cartwright, and Samuel Pulse, twelve great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members and friends. She loved all of them unconditionally.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Christian Chapel, 4043 Chandler Rd, in Muskogee with Pastor Conrad Barrett officiating. Interment will follow in Brushy Mountain Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Henry Holland, Billy Owens, Larry Lewis, Clyde Pride, and Trevor Armstrong. Honorary Pallbearers are Joseph Cartwright and Samuel Pulse

Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
