Longtime Meeker resident Edith Armitage, 90, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 16, in Meeker, Okla.
She was born on Aug. 28, 1916 in Payson, Okla., to Grover and Eula (Nicely) Cartwright.
She worked many years as a housekeeper and nanny. Edith was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, James and Helen Armitage of Meeker, Bobby and Norma Armitage of Meeker; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Lucille Nicely of Missoula, Mont.; sister Mable Woody of Chandler; six grandchildren; Tiffany and Robert Gear, Scott Armitage, Cherly Thomas, Terri Kiker and David Armitage; 14 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and many other realatives and friends.
Viewing of the body will be held at Parks Brothers Chapel in Meeker.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the New Hope Cemetery, Meeker, with Kent Friskup officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
