She was a dressmaker and seamstress.

Mrs. Georgia Ann (Carter) Bratton 89, died this morning at 5:10 o'clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. Dave J. Satterfield at 108 Wayne Avenue, Elkins. Mrs. Bratton had been in failing health for the past 10 years, but had been in her usual health yesterday, having watched television programs prior to retiring last night. She had resided here since 1906. Mrs. Bratton was born April 8, 1866, in Union City, Tenn., a daughter of Polk and Martha Jane (Mongomery) Carter. She was married to Bruce Bratton who preceded her in death. Mrs. Bratton was a member of the First Methodist Church of Elkins. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary B. Steele of Johnstown, Pa. and Mrs. D. J. Satterfield, at whose home death occurred and two grandchildren, Harney A. Steele, a graduate of Davis and Elkins College in the class of 1935 now a resident of Johnstown, Pa. and Bruce H. Steele of Philadelphia. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the John E. Lohr Funeral Home after 10 o'clock Tuesday morning. Final rites will be conducted from the funeral home 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Dr. Ross Culpepper pastor of the First Methodist Church will officiate and interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
