Funeral services for Mrs. Jim Ada, 91, native of Giles County, will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Elkton Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Burial will take place in Elkton Cemetery. Mrs. Ada died at 7 o'clock Monday morning, March 5, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. L. E. Criner in Little Rock, Ark., after a long illness.
The former Miss Emma Carter, she was born November 20, 1870, in Giles County, daughter of the late Joshua Carter and Julia Brown Carter. For the past six years she had made her home in Little Rock.
Her husband, James Jasper Ada, died in 1948.
Mrs. Ada is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Criner, and Mrs. W. W. Ashworth, Nashville; one son, Clarence Ada, Elkton; five grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
