Edna Carter Barnes, 87, of Bowling Green, passed away on Feb. 10, 2012. She was born on Aug. 29, 1924, to the late John Carter and the late Ida Brandon Carter. She was married to the late William F. "Bear" Barnes. She was a homemaker, a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the D.A.R. She was a quilter and loved to sew.
She is survived by three daughters, Doris Patrick, Patricia Hughes and her husband, Gregory, and Barbara Hale, all of Bowling Green; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be today from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with burial at Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
