Charles W. Carter
Charles W. Carter, 68, Rt. 2, Ford's Mill Rd., a Woodford County native and a lifelong resident of Nonesuch, died Sunday at his residence.
He was the son of the late Holloway and Florence Baker Carter. A retired employee of National Distillers and Chemical Corp., he was member of the Troy Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder, was a member of the Landmark Lodge No. 41, F&AM, Versailles, was a former scoutmaster and had been involved in coaching with the Woodford County Recreation Department and church softball league.
Survivors are his wife, Margaret Corman Carter, Nonesuch; four daughters, Mrs. Jim (Pippin) Roberts, Frankfort; Patsy Shryock, Versailles; Mrs. Scott (Peggy) Seal, Troy; and Mrs. Donnie (Melanie) Berger, Louisville; two sons, Charles M. Carter, Mt. Vernon, and Glenn A. Carter, Anderson County; a sister, Mrs. Willard (Anne) Blackburn, Versailles, and seven grandchildren, Jebbie and Roni-Anne Barbour, Patrick Shryock, Benjamin Roberts, Kara and Michele Carter, and Megan Berger.
Services were conducted at 10:30 am Wednesday at the Troy Presbyterian Church by the Rev. John Grimes. Burial was in the Versailles Cemetery. Casket bearers were Donald Paul, Lee Gregory, David Lee Webster, Glenn Tutt, Jerry Pulliam, and Alvin Smith.
