Brother Wyoming Citizen Dies In Toulon
Ira Carter, 62, retired farmer, died suddenly of a heart attack in his home in Toulon Wednesday following several months illness.
The son of S. L. Carter and Nanny LaRue Carter, he was born October 28, 1889 in Hodgenville, Ky. February 14, 1911 he married Laura Fleming in the home of her parents in Toulon. They had lived on a farm south of Toulon until several years ago when they came to Toulon.
Mr. Carter was a member of the First Baptist church and the Toulon Civic club.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Wana, Mrs. Basil Gilbert of Monica; two grandsons, Ralph and Ray Gilbert; three brother, Clarence of Wyoming, Herman of Wyanet, Leonard of Franklin Grove; three sisters, Mrs. Irwin Dabier of Manlius, Mrs. Nellie Keltner of Jacksonville, Mrs. G. C. Skaggs of Hodgenville, Ky.
The funeral was held in the First Baptist church at 1:30 p. m. Saturday, Rev. Arthur O. Charsky officiating. Burial was the Toulon mausoleum.
