Leslie Everett Carter was born in Denton, Texas, the seventh of twelve children of William Irvin Carter and Louisa Williamson Shelby.
He was preceded in death by his wife Beulah; his son, Dennis; his brothers, Mack, George, Marvin and Jack; his sisters, Bessie Mae, Ruthie, Sonie and Jessie.
He is survived by two sons, Jack (Judy), Larry (Wendy); three grandchildren, Lacey, Emily and Jeramy; one brother, Brown; two sisters, Ollie and Nettie; and many nieces and nephews.
The family farmed in Texas and Oklahoma. The family traveled by covered wagon at that time. Then automobiles came into being. I remember our father talking about a 1923 truck that they had.
In 1938 our father left the farm to become an electrician in California. In 1976 he moved to Mapleton, Utah, where we have ever been grateful for the wonderful neighbors and friends.
Everett was baptized in his later years in the LDS Church and was sealed with his family in the temple.
We send our sincere appreciation to everyone at East Lake Care Center for their kindness and care.
Funeral services will be held at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at 11 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
