Services for Louise McMullen Carter, 90, Tyler, died July 3, 2008, at East Texas Hospice in Tyler. Burial will be in Midland.

Mrs. Carter was born May 5, 1918, in Vaden, Ark., to the late Verdie Whitlock McMullen and Walter McMullen.

Throughout the years she enjoyed bowling, bingo, dominoes, card games and fishing. She moved to Tyler in 1998 and resided at the Salvation Army William Booth Garden Apartments. She was a member of Salvation Army Home League and was their Woman of the Year in 2000. She attended Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church or Salvation Army Home League for William Booth Garden Apartments.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Carter; two sisters and four brothers; a niece and two nephews.

Survivors include her only child, Verdie Marie Carter White and son-in-law, Robert White, Hot Springs, Ark.; her only grandchild, David Robert White, Burleson; three nephews; eight nieces; local relatives include Opal Lowry, niece, Tyler; Traci and Boyd Sanders, Tyler, great-niece and her husband; Mayzi and Kinzi Sanders, great-great-nieces; and nephew, Charles Bell and wife Sue of Whitehouse.

The family requests no flowers.
