Dr. Faber Henry Carter was born in Hickory Plains, Ark., June 13, 1919, the son of the late James and Virginia Boals Carter. He died Sunday, April 6, at his home in Sheridan, Ark. Dr. Carter attended schools in Beebe, Ark. He was a pilot in the Air Force during World War II and served in the China, Burma, India Theater. Dr. Carter studied pre-med at ASTC in Conway and earned his M.D. at the University of Arkansas School of Medicine. He practiced medicine in Sheridan 46 years. Dr. Carter was an avid golfer and thrilled crowds at air shows with aerobatics in his Pitts Special plane.
Dr. Carter was predeceased by his daughter, Charlotte Carter Mathews. He is survived by his wife, Gerry; and daughters, Carolyn Wright and husband Jim, Elaine Carter; and granddaughters, Jeri Suttle and Andrea Packer.
