The funeral for Edith Nell Black, 86, of Athens, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Spry Funeral Home with Don Lauderdale and Dusty McLemore officiating. Burial will be in the Athens City Cemetery.
Mrs. Black died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the Athens-Limestone Hospital.
She was born May 28, 1923 in La Grange, Georgia, to William and Lucille Carter.
She was a member of the Riddles Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Pat King and husband, Buddy, of Athens, and Carol Wayne Cathcart and husband, M.C., of North Myrtle Beach, SC; brothers, Jim Carter of Savannah, GA, Steve Carter of Liburn, GA, and Billy Carter of Milledgeville, GA; three grandchildren, Jeri-Anne Agee of Franklin, TN, Jason Schrimsher of Huntsville and Claudine Rawl of North Myrtle Beach, SC; and five great-grandchildren.
