He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Carter; son, Alan Carter and is survived by his daughter, Donna Dooley and her husband Michael of Emerson, GA; grandchildren, Shannon Story and her husband Wayne of Cartersville; Tammy Kilgore and her husband Mark of Kingston; Alan Carter, Jr. of Smyrna; Stacy Jarrard of Tampa, FL; Brad Jarrard and his wife Shaunda of Fort Drum, NY; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 2 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Rev. J.E. Jarrard officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
