STATESBORO, Ga. - Ms. Dorothy L. (Dot Brinson) Carter, age 72, passed into rest Thursday, May 20, 2010, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The Bulloch native was a retired employee of Cooper Tools and a member of the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church.

Mrs. Carter leaves memories to be cherished by her loving children, Mr. Roy L. (Tara) Brinson, Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Betty (Lemuel) Shields, Ft. Washington, Md., Mrs. Debra (James) Allen, Statesboro, Ga., Ms. Charlie Whitfield, Atlanta, Ga., Mr. Willie (Linda) Brinson, Brooklet, Mr. Lonnie Brinson, Statesboro, Ga., Mr. Jesse (Soma) Newborn, Whitfield, Germany, Mr. Joseph S. Whitfield, Douglasville, Ga., and Mr. Antonio G. (Minister Tamar) Whitfield, Calif.; sisters, Mrs. Jo Ann Thompson, South Bend, Ind., and Mrs. Gertie Williams, Indianapolis, Ind.; a brother, Mr. Carl Byrd, St. Largo, Fla.; a host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Ms. Carter will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010, in the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of Hill's Mortuary, Inc., with the Rev. Brenda N. Brown officiating. Internment: Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
