Charles Thomas Carter, 81, a retired miner, died at his home, Route 1, at 2:30 a.m. today. He was a native of Nelson County, the son of the late William and Mary Jane Henderson Carter. Survivors include four sons, Frank P., of South Charleston, W. Va., and Edward W., Carl C. and George F. Carter, all of Stuarts Draft; four daughters, Mrs. James H. Patterson, Mrs. J. W. Floyd, both of Stuarts Draft, and Mrs. James L. Matheny, Waynesboro, and Mrs. A. L. Bosquet, of Richmond; by two brothers, Albert M. and Ernest W. Carter, both of Sherando by 28 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Remains will rest at the Etter Funeral Home here until the time of service, details of which have not yet been completed.
