Foustina was born on July 2, 1930 in Pikeville, KY. She is the youngest of four children born to Sherman and Myrtle Rich Carter.
She married Edward Louis Buckel in 1956; later divorced. She was an outstanding, dedicated nurse, and hospital supervisor for 41 years in Louisville, KY.
She moved to Midvale, UT in 1999 to be closer to her family. Her life was spent in the service of others, serving as Relief Society President, Full Time Nurse Missionary in Argentina, Temple Worker, Primary Teacher, and numerous years as a Red Cross volunteer.
After 79 delightful years, she was called home due to pulmonary-hypertension on Saturday, August 15, 2009. She resided at 227 East Ashbrook Circle (6910 South) in Midvale, Utah at the time of her death.
Foustina made her family and many friends the center of her life, always finding ways to assist and brighten their days. Her warm personality, cheery smile, and vivacious laugh will always be remembered.
She is survived by her brother Virgil Carter, her three children Janene Griffin (DeLoy), Eddie Buckel (Beth), and Vicki Afemata (Loa), 12 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 21, 2009 at 12:00 noon in the Jenkins Soffe Funeral Chapel, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), South Jordan, UT. Viewings will be held on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the same location and one hour prior to the services.
Interment at the South Jordan City Cemetery.
