Eula Bernice "Bunny" Sholl passed away at 88 years old on June 5th, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas. Active until her death, she had spent the last year in San Antonio with her daughter, Ruth, and her family.
Bunny was preceded in death by her husband, Master Sergeant George William Sholl Jr., USAF.
She is survived by her son, Major George W. Sholl III, USAF (Ret.) of Wade, Mississippi; her daughter Ruth Sholl Nixon and son-in-law David W. Nixon; and granddaughters Sarah Elizabeth Nixon and Rachel Alexandra Nixon, all of San Antonio, Texas. In addition, she leaves nieces and nephews from her late sister Mary Evelyn Wyatt: Pat Wyatt of San Diego, California; H.L. Wyatt and wife Keiko who are serving as missionaries in India; Eula Janeen Wyatt of San Francisco, California; Mary Elaine Wyatt and Keith Earl Wyatt, both of DeLand, Florida; and Robert Stanley Wyatt of St. Petersburg, Florida. She also claimed as her children the hundreds of students who knew her as "Ms. Bunny" when she taught at East Central Elementary School and at Caswell Springs Kindergarten and Pre-School. There are also very many special friends and relatives such as Joyce Tillman of Pascagoula and Nell and Bobby D. Kennedy of Three Rivers.
Born in Pascagoula's "old hospital" to Horace Lester and Eula Lee Carter, Bunny grew up near Three Rivers in north Jackson County and graduated from Wade High School and Perkinston Junior College. She worked as a secretary in the mold loft at Ingalls Shipyard for several years, but loved teaching and retired after 30 years as an educator. Other than two years spent in Columbus, Ohio, while at Lockbourne Air Force Base, she lived in Jackson County for her entire adult life until moving to San Antonio last year. Bunny was proud of her children's achievements and always supported their school activities, serving in the band parents association and the East Central PTA. Additionally, she had a long association with the Jackson County Junior Miss Association. A member of Caswell Springs United Methodist Church, she also attended Wade Baptist Church for many years.
Eula Bernice Sholl's funeral service will be held Thursday, June 10th, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Caswell Springs United Methodist Church in Wade, Mississippi.
