Margaret Corman Carter
Margaret Corman Carter, 74, of Ford's Mill Rd., Woodford County, widow of Charles W. Carter, died Sunday, Feb. 14, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.
A native of Jessamine County, she was the daughter of the late A.J. (Jack) and Gertrude Corman, and a lifelong resident of Nonesuch. She was an active member of the former Nonesuch Presbyterian Church where she served as president of the Women of the Church, was youth group leader, and Sunday school teacher of the Troy Presbyterian Church. was past president and a lifetime honorary member of the Nonesuch Parent Teacher Association. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Jim (Pippin) Roberts, Frankfort; Patsy Shryock, Verailles; Mrs. Scott (Peggy) Seal, Troy; and Mrs. Fernando (Melanie) Esparza, Louisville; two sons, Charles M. Carter, Mt. Vernon; and Glenn A. Carter, Anderson County; a sister, Ethel Coyle, and a brother, A.J. Corman, Jr., both of Nonesuch, and eight grandchildren, Jebbie and Roni-Anne Barbour, Patrick Shryock, Benjamin Roberts, Kara and Michele Carter, Megan Berger, and Allison Carter, and two stepgrandchildren, Chris and Dee Dee Esparza.
Services were conducted at 1 pm Tuesday, Feb. 15, at the Troy Presbyterian Church by the Rev. P. David Wadsworth and the Rev. James Leitch. Burial was in the Versailles Cemetery. Casket bearers were John E. Coyle, Larry Blackburn, Mike Blackburn, Don Paul, Jay Buffin and John Frankenberger. Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, Versailles, was in charge of arrangement. Memorial are suggested to the Buckhorn Presbyterian Children's Center, Buckhorn, KY, or the American Heart Association.
