Deceased was born in Fulton County June 8,1850. Was married to Nancy Yocum Nov. 6,1873. Harvey L. Carter was overcome by bad air in a well and died before he could be rescued. He was cleaning out a well on J.C. Brock's farm, and was being let down gradually when the men heard him cry to be drawn up, but before they could do so his head fell back, he let loose the rope, and fell to the bottom. A chain was gotten over and arm and he was pulled out.
