God has Taken Back his Finest Angel
Donna E. Corbaley passed away on August 20, 2009, with her loving family at her side. She was born in Cedar Point, UT, the fourth child to John and Geneva Carter. Donna worked and was raised on a farm. When not working, she would enjoy wonderful adventures with her lifelong friend and niece, Dixie (Wilson) Barber. The family relocated to the Wenatchee, WA area when she was in her teens. She married Elmer Corbaley on April 10, 1953, and together they operated several small businesses, including Springwater Grocery in Wenatchee. Donna also worked in fruit packing sheds and other retail stores. They had two sons and she became a homemaker and devoted mother. After her husband passed away in 1995, Donna moved back to Utah and was able to enjoy several years with her childhood friends and relatives. She returned to Washington, where she spent the remainder of her years close to her sons and family, where she could share her deep love with them. She loved to laugh and the joy of her life was spending time with her sons and their families. Donna loved music, especially Celtic, Traditional Scottish and Classical music. She taught herself to play the guitar and studied foreign languages. She valued friendship and enjoyed her daily talks with her friend, Dixie and her sister, "Ducky". She also loved animals and supported the Humane Society and believed all God's creatures deserved love. She would never kill a spider and she even fed the ants outside her home. She also supported St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Although she came from humble beginnings, she appreciated the finer things in life and was an elegant lady. She was deeply loved by many and will be remembered for her kind spirit and words of love and encouragement. Donna fought a long and courageous battle with Lymphoma and won. Her untimely passing was from another cause.
She is survived by her sons, George "Bill" Corbaley and his partner, Jeannette Pellham of Ephrata, WA and David Corbaley and his wife, Beth Corbaley of Issaquah, WA; her sister, Shirleen Eagleburger of Arizona; grandchildren, Vanity Corbaley, Brandi Corbaley and Ethan Juday; and her cat, Ninja.
