Sylvia Ada Sheaffer, 82, passed away Monday, April 11, 2005, at the Colonial Vista Long Term Care Facility. Born in Brockwell, Arkansas November 1, 1922, to John and Hassie (Yancey) Carter. She lived in Wenatchee and East Wenatchee for over 60 years.
Sylvia worked for many years for General Telephone Company as a switchboard operator. In 1966, she married Howard Sheaffer of Yakima, later moving to East Wenatchee after Howard's retirement.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her brother, Ancel; and in 1990, her husband Howard. Survivors include her son, Alan (Barbara) Beidler; grandsons, Aaron (Lori) Beidler and Jamie Beidler and her step-granddaughter, Melissa (Jason) Van Wagner; and great-grandchildren, Casen and Camryn Beidler; step-grandchildren, Devin, Zachary, Colton and Aidan Van Wagner all of Wenatchee. Sylvia will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, April 15, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. at the Wenatchee Cemetery with Pastor Phil Brooks officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are by Bett's Funeral Service of Wenatchee.
