Thorndike – George H. Carson, 80, died suddenly Sunday evening May 5, 1963. He was born at Mapleton October 1, 1882, son of George and Selena (Ravin) Carson. He was a member of the Harvest Moon Grange of Thorndike.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lottie Carson; five daughters, Mrs. Mabel A. Ogden of Old Town, Mrs. Doris Curtis of Unity, Mrs. Florence Bragdon of Belfast, Mrs. Ada Boulter of Knox, Mrs. Alice Nadeau of Old Town; three sons, Ansel of Thorndike, Leroy of Unity, and Kenneth of Thorndike; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Whipple of Oxbow, Mrs. Vesta Flemming of Oxbow; two brothers, Harry Carson of Ashland and Frank Carson of Morrill; two half-sisters, Mrs. Ruby Fields of Freeport and Mrs. Bernice Gordon of Belfast; a half-brother, John Merry of Belfast; several nieces, nephews and cousins; 21grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of God in East Thorndike, the Rev. Arnold Reynolds of Thorndike officiating. Burial will be in the Center Cemetery, Thorndike.
