Dallis D. Carsner Jr., 64, of 675 W. Ninth Ave., Marion, died Wednesday afternoon in St. Luke's Hospital after a sudden illness. Survices: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Faith Lutheran Church, Marion. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; his father, Dallis Sr. of West Plains, Missouri; a stepson, Kurt Krog of St. Louis; a stepdaughter, Karen Zierath of Marshalltown; and a brother, George of Iowa City.
Also surviving are five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth and a brother, Richard.
Born the son of Dallis and Elizabeth Kray Carsner Sr. on May 23, 1928, in Marion, he married Betty Caraway there on May 4, 1968. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. Dallis work for Dale Lee Distributing for 17 years, retiring in 1985, and for the past five years had been a bus driver for the Linn-Mar School District. He was a member of American Legion Marion Post 298, Cedar Rapids Sky Hawks and Faith Lutheran Church.
