Brenda Allen, 44, died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 18, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Brenda is welcomed with open arms by her mother, Louise Carroll and sister, Alicia (Carroll) Norris. Brenda is survived by her husband and soul-mate Douglas Allen, her son, U.S.A.F. 2nd Lt. Douglas Allen Jr. of Laughlin Air Force Base, TX; two daughters, Amanda and Shelby of Conklin; father; James Carroll of Binghamton; sister, Cindi (Ed) Palilonis of Windsor; brothers, James (Margaret) Carroll of Windsor, John (Laurel) Carroll of Fort Worth, TX; mother-in-law, Ann (Ed) Allen Herbert, sisters-in-law, Judy (Darwin) Eicher, Karen (Norman) Goodwin both of FL; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins as well as her network of family from Don's Auto Parts, and her faithful dog, Bella. Brenda will always be remembered for her compassion to others, the fact that she never complained and her strength and determination to fight this battle. "Well done; my good and faithful servant." The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Broome Oncology, Lourdes Hospital and Hospice and everyone who touched Brenda's heart in one way or another. She will be eternally missed.
A Funeral Mass will be offered Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Sts. John and Andrew Church 1263 Vestal Ave., Binghamton. Burial will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
