Porter A. Carroll, 79, of 250 W. Lincoln St., Knightstown, died Wednesday in Hancock Memorial Hospital, Greenfield.
He was born Feb. 10, 1902, in Orange County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hickman Carroll. He was a member of First Christian Church of Knightstown. He was past patron of Knightstown chapter of Order of Eastern Star and past master of Knightstown Masonic Lodge.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Dortha Ramsey Carroll, four sons, Edward of Rochester, Bob of Wilkinson, Charles of Richmond and Norman of Knightstown; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Marlene Sato of Huntsville, Ala., and Mrs. Susan Griffin of Plainfield,; 12 grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Grace Howard of Loogootee.
Services were Friday at Butcher Funeral Home with Pastor Robert T. Berkebile officiating. Burial was in Glen Cove Cemetery.
