Suggested edit: Robert William Carriveau, 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and beloved friend of many, passed away peacefully at his home in Beaverton, Michigan on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. He was born in Alpena, Michigan on December 1, 1928, the son of Joseph & Helen (Chauvin) Carriveau. He married Wilma Nunez on November 4, 1966 in Orange County Texas. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, retired from Iron Workers Local 25 of Detroit and also drove truck. Robert was a 35-year resident of Albright Shores, Michigan. He formed the Honey Bee Stingers Band, which played all over the country, and was awarded 2 Congressional Records. He along with his wife were the 1st couple to be inducted into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame. He was a member of the American Legion Post #171, the Saginaw Valley Bee Keepers Association as well as the Michigan Bee Keepers Association. He volunteered for the FIA and Toys for Tots and enjoyed helping needy families. He will be sadly missed. He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Wilma Carriveau of Beaverton; children: Pat (Joy) Carriveau of Greenville, MI; Denise (Richard) Ebner; Beverly (David) Chavez; Debbie (Eli) Ochoa; Jeanne Rowlette all of California; Darlene (Michael) McDermott of Mississippi; Basil "Buddy" (Lynn) Rummer of Beaverton, MI; James (Mary) Rummer of Arcadia, Florida; Lonnie (Sherree) Rummer of Salem, Ohio; 34 grandchildren; 77 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Paul (Ethel) Carriveau of Spruce, MI; Thomas (Sally) Carriveau of Flint, MI; Earl Carriveau of Louisiana; Gerald (Renata) Carriveau of Spruce, MI; Harold (Sharon) Carriveau of Oscoda, MI; Rose Bennett of Flint, MI; Carol Ann Hansen of Spruce, MI; Helen (Jim) Grochowski of Alpena. MI; Mary (Art) Jackson of Spruce, MI; 2 sister in-laws: Shirley Carriveau of Durand, MI; Betty Carriveau of Flint, MI; several nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; 4 sons: Robert, Daryl, Michael & Scott Carriveau; 5 brothers: Louis, Irvin, Alvin, Joseph & George Carriveau; 1 sister: Evelyn. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Don Smith and Pastor Tyler Liegeb on Friday, November 2, 2012, 11:00 A.M. with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Billings Bible Church, Beaverton, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 3-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, Michigan. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Arbutus Cemetery, Beaverton, Michigan.
