Emmett Everet Carrigan, 79, of Blackduck, died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the Golden Oldies Assisted Living Center in Blackduck.
Private family services will be held at a later date. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck assisted the family with arrangements.
He was born Aug. 29, 1929 to Myrtle Mathilda (Moon) and Edward R. Carrigan in Hornet Township, Minn. He was the youngest of seven children. He lived most of his life in the Blackduck area, except for brief employments in Aurora and Thief River Falls, Minn. and time spent with relatives in the Seattle, Wash. area. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards, and spending time with his friends.
He is survived by his children, Jennifer Johnson of Verndale, Minn., Timothy (Trudy) Carrigan of Blackduck. Linda Carrigan Kuiawinski of Blackduck and Jeffrey (Lauri) Carrigan of Blackduck; his grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and sister- in-laws.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Emmett Pater and his siblings, Melvin Carrigan, Edward Carrigan Jr., Lloyd Carrigan, Violet Carrigan Scheldrup and two infants.
