Maxine grew up in Harper County and attended Harper Schools graduating in 1935from Harper High School.
On July 21, 1937, she married the love of her life, Clarence Carrick. To this union three children were born; Carolyn, Ray and Anna. The family made their home on a farm near Harper on the county line. Maxine worked for many years beside her husband on the farm. When they moved from the farm to Great Bend, she followed her lifelong dream and worked in the hospital as a nurse aide. In recent years she moved to Colorado to be closer to her daughter.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband on October 25, 1985, by her parents and two brothers.
She will be deeply missed by her children: Carolyn Simpson of Lincoln, Nebraska, Ray Carrick of Topeka, Kansas, and Anna Schultz of Sedalia, Colorado; her sister, Fonda Adams of Phoenix Arizona; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
