Charles Robert Carrell, 17, 3438 Liberty Drive, died at 10:35 p.m., Monday, April 3, 1972, in Rockford Memorial Hospital, from a gunshot wound.

Born June 22, 1954, in Rockford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Carrell. Lived all his life in Rockford. Attended Berean Baptist Church. Attended Auburn High School, where he was a junior.

Survivors include: his mother, Mrs. Pearl Carrell; three sisters, Mrs. Pheobe Estes, Mrs. Josephine Quest, and Mrs. Linda Thurston, and two brothers, James W. and Howard P. Carrell, all of Rockford, and several nieces and nephews. His father died Jan. 27, 1972.

Services at 1 p.m. Friday, April 7, in Wilbur Christenson Funeral Home. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
