Johnny G. Carrasco, 33, Fort Worth, Texas, a Carlsbad native, died Tuesday in a Fort Worth hospital. A memorial service is pending with Denton Funeral Home. He has been cremated.
Mr. Carrasco was born on June 19, 1957, in Carlsbad where he grew up and was graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1975.
After his graduation he moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area where he continued his education and became a respiratory technician and therapist at Dallas Memorial Hospital for several years prior to his death.
He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include his parents Louis and Chris Ramirez and a sister Jamie Hernandez, all of Carlsbad.
Memorials may be made to a local cancer society.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at San Jose Catholic Church with the Rev. John Elmer officiating.
Mr. Carrasco will not lie in state. Burial will be in Carlsbad Cemetery.
He died Tuesday in a Fort Worth hospital.
Arrangements are being handled by Denton Funeral Home.
