(Ref: CARLSBAD CURRENT-ARGUS, Carlsbad, Eddy County, New Mexico, reads as follows:
CRUZ CARRASCO

Cruz Guzman Carrasco, 65, of Standpipe Road, died Monday (Sept. 20, 1993) at Guadalupe Medical Center. Rosary is to be said at 7 p.m. Thursday at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday in the church with the Rev. Alfred Sartor officiating. Burial is to follow at the Carlsbad Cemetery.

Carrasco was born May 3, 1928, in Loving and lived in this area all of his life. He married Estela Alvarado.

During his employment with the City of Carlsbad, Carrasco did most of the finishing of cement on city projects such as the riverwalk.

He was a member of the San Jose Catholic Church and the Steelworkers Union.

He is survived by his wife, Estela Carrasco, of Carlsbad; six sons, Richard and Paulo Carrasco of Carlsbad, and Lenny, Jerry, Gary Carrasco and Jose Luis, all of San Jose Calif.; five daughters, Frances Hernandez, Priscilla Anaya and Stephanie Carrasco, all of Carlsbad, Teresa Dolt of Philadelphia, Pa., and Elena Curl of Letona, Ohio; one brother, Manuel Carrasco of Carlsbad; six sisters, Luciana Sauceda, Soccoro Subia and Sabina Clayton, all of Carlsbad, Mary Fench of Huntington Beach, Calif., Isabel Nievez of El Paso, Texas, and Cheva Orosco of Big Spring, Texas; 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Raul Rodriguez, Chito Carrasco, Ernie Flores, Ruben Mireles, Beto Dominguez and Domingo Sapien are scheduled to serve as pallbearers.
