WEDOWEE – Mrs. Rilla Carr Burke, 78, of Roanoke, Rt. 3, died Thursday at Randolph County Hospital.
Services will be Saturday at 2p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Clyde Harley and the Rev. Winston Cummings officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include her husband, Troy Burke; two daughters, Miss Ona [Ina] Burke and Mrs. Marie Vaughn, both of Roanoke; two sons, Clayton Burke of Dalton, Ga., and Fred Burke, of Roanoke; three brothers, J.D. Carr of Columbus, Ga., W.O. Carr and Carl Carr both of Woodland; three sisters, Mrs. Ollie Burson of Woodland, Mrs. Ada Laney and Mrs. Lavada Bonders [Ponder], both of Centerville, Ga.; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Richard Tidwell, Wayne Tidwell, Tommy Tidwell, Travis Burke, Michael Burke and Billy Burke.
Mrs. Burke was a native and lifelong resident of Randolph County and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
The body will remain at the funeral home until one hour prior to services.
