CARR Mrs. Darlene Yevette Foreman Carr peacefully passed away July 8, 2014. A native of Jacksonville, FL she received her early education from the schools of Duval county graduating from Jean Ribault Senior High School - Class of 1979. Furthering her education, she attended Southern Illinois University where she earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Sociology. Mrs. Carr had been employed as with Smile Learning & Behavioral Center with 30 years of dedicated service as a Social Worker. Other affiliations include former Vice President of the Jacksonville Urban League and an AIDS Awareness Counselor. Survivors include her husband, Reginald P. Carr; children, Ms. Latasha Foreman, Mrs. Latoya Foreman-Stephens (John), Maurice Wright, Jr., Ms. Tiffanie Wright, Reginald Carr, Jr., Keith Carr and Anthony Carr; 4 grandchildren; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers; a number of other relatives and friends. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM, SATURDAY, July 12, 2014 in the Rufus E. Payne Memorial Chapel of the mortuary, with Pastor Michael Nelson of Peace Tabernacle Assembly of God, officiating. Mrs. Carr will rest in the mortuary for visitation FRIDAY from 2 PM until 5 PM (where the family will receive friends at 2 PM) and SATURDAY from 9 AM until the hour of service. Interment will be in Edgewood Cemetery. Friends are asked to assemble at the mortuary under the direction of ALPHONSO WEST MORTUARY, INC., 4409 Soutel Dr., 904/766-9671.
