HEREFORD — David P. Carnahan, 54, formerly of Hereford, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012.

Celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kevin Bushart, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in West Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home of Hereford.

David was born Sept. 18, 1958, to Tommy Dexter and Margaret Phillips Carnahan. He attended school in Hereford, graduated from Hereford High School in 1977. He then attended Angelo State University, were he graduated in 1981. David was employed at Amarillo National Bank for nearly 30 years; he had served as the vice president of the Real Estate Trust Department. He met and fell in love with Kaye Shook, and they were married Feb. 19, 2004, in Hereford. David was a member of Palo Duro Masonic Lodge No. 1239 and a member of Khiva Temple of the Shrine.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Carnahan, and a brother, Phillip Dexter Carnahan.

Survivors include his wife, Kaye of Amarillo; two daughters Alisha Platts and husband Noel of Amarillo and Jamie Norman and husband Christopher of Oceanside, Calif.; two sons, Craig Carnahan of Midland and J.P. Holman and wife Leanna of Edmond, Okla.; his mother, Margaret Carnahan of Hereford; two sisters, Jeanne Langford and husband Steve and Amy Scott and husband Jay of Hereford; a grandson, Dylan Platts of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Tyler Norman of Oceanside; and a goddaughter, Kristin Messer of Hereford.

The family suggests memorials be to Khiva Shrine Center of Amarillo, 305 E. Fifth St., Amarillo, TX 79101.
