It becomes the sad duty to chronicle in this week's issue of the Press an account of the death of Chas J Carlson of Center City, who passed into the Great Beyond at Bethesda Hospital in St Paul last Sunday afternoon at the age of 33 years, 1 month and 23 days.
Charles John Carlson was born in Urosa, Sweden, the 11th day of July, 1877. He came to this country with his parents and settled near Center City where he spent his childhood and youth. He was confirmed at the Chisago Lake church in Center City in 1892.
For the past few years he had been in the employ of the Center City Telephone Co, as a lineman. Mr. Carlson was a man if loveable qualities and made friends everywhere. Only a short time ago he developed a hemorrhage of the nose and gums and although the best of medical aid was sought, nothing could be done and he passed away on Sunday.
The deceased leaves to mourn his early death, a wife and three children, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John G Carlson of Center City, a brother Hjalmer Carlson and 3 sisters, Hallie of Center City, Mrs. Chas L Carlson of Lindstrom and another sister in North Dakota.
The funeral took place from the chapel in Center City yesterday afternoon. Rev Eckman officiating. Interment was at the Center City Cemetery.
