Mrs. Anna Stena Carlson, 76 years old, wife of N G Carlson of Lindstrom, died at her home at 10:20 last Tuesday night after offering nearly a month from heart and stomach complications.

Funeral services for the aged settler, who first came to the Pleasant Valley community when she was only 21 years old, will be conducted from the Westberg Undertaking Parlors at Center City at 2:00 Saturday afternoon and from the Chisago Lake Church of which she was a member for 45 years at 2:30.

Dr J A Krantz will officiate at the services and the pallbearers will be Alfred Hawkinson, CA Bloomquist, Geo Erickson, Swen Johnson, David Hawkinson and Edwin Johnson. The remains will be interred at the Chisago Lake Cemetery.

The deceased was born on December 7, 1851 at Torsas, Sweden and lived there until 182, when she came to America in company with a sister. After landing in America, the two set out for Pleasant Valley, where they lived with an uncle, Gust Nelson. The father came to Pleasant Valley a short time later and from that time until she married N G Carlson on June 25, 1882, she lived with him. After her marriage, she and her husband settled on a Pleasant Valley farm and lived there until 8 years ago when they removed to Lindstrom. Six children were born to the couple and 5 survive.

Two years before leaving the farm, Mrs. Carlson was first afflicted with heart trouble. After being confined to bed continuously, Tuesday night she quietly passed away.

Left to mourn are her husband N G Carlson and 5 daughters, Mrs. Arthur Ferguson of North St Paul, Mrs. John S Claus on of Minneapolis, Mrs. Arthur G Sandquist of Minneapolis, Mrs. Albert N Brunson of Minneapolis and Mrs. Victor E Larson of Lindstrom, two sisters Mrs. Peter Nelson of Minneapolis and Mrs. John M Carlson of North Branch, four grandchildren and many other relatives and friends join with the Press in offering condolences to the sorrowing family.
