Carl Ludwig Carlson, 64, died suddenly in his home, 2806 Grand avenue at midnight Wednesday following a brief illness. Although Mr. Carlson had not been well for some time he had been at work Wednesday and his death was unexpected.
A sheet metal worker at the Uchtorff Co. since 1922, Mr. Carlson was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union; Trinity lodge No. 208, A.F. & A.M.; Zarephath Consistory; Kaaba Temple and the Macabees. He was of the Lutheran faith.
The son of Carl V. and Christina Carlson, he was born in Sweden Oct. 2, 1881; came to this country at an early age, and settled first in Burlington, Ia., where he received his education. In 1899 he came to Davenport and on Sept. 24, 1923 was married to Irene Guldner in Princeton, Ill. After their marriage the couple resided in Davenport.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Robert. E. Carlson, Davenport; a granddaughter, Merry Carole Carlson; and a brother, Edwin A. Carlson, also of Davenport.
Funeral services will be held in the Hill & Fredericks chapel at 1:30 p.m. Saturday followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery.
