Anna Marie Carlson, daughter of Johan Gustaf Carlson and his wife Helena Christina(nee Peterson) was born April 7, 1882 in the Chisago Lake Township. She was baptized April 16, 1882 by Pastor J J Frodeen and fifteen years later was confirmed in the Chisago Lake Lutheran church of Center City, June 6, 1897 in the first class of Pastor F M Eckman.
As a girl she attended enter City Grade School. Following her confirmation she spent some years in Stillwater doing housework. Most of her lifetime spent on the home farm east of Center City, where she helped to care for her mother, who was an invalid for five years. Both of her parents died while family was living on the home farm. In 1956 Anna and her brother Edward moved to Center City. In 1960 they became guests at the Chisago Lutheran Home for the Aged in Chisago City. In September of that year Edward died.
Anna Carlson became ill and was entered as a patient at the Chisago Lakes Hospital March 11, where one week later on Wednesday, March 18 at 6:30 AM she quietly and trustingly departed this life, having attained the age of 81 years, 11 months and 11 days.
She was preceded n death not only one brother Edward n 1960, but also one sister Evelyn in 1908.
Surviving her are one sister, Hattie (Mrs. Axel Nelson) of Stillwater, one brother William E Carlson of Center City and several cousins.
Anna Carlson was a lifelong member of Chisago Lake Lutheran Church, Center City. Her pleasant spirit and disposition, her trusting faith, her happy activity in service to others wherever she was, is missed by all who knew her.
Interment was in the family plot in the Chisago Lake Cemetery.
Funeral services were conducted at the Chisago Lake Lutheran church, Center city, Minnesota, on Friday, March 20 at 2:00 pm with Pastor W Burdette Benson officiating.
Mrs. Hazel Tkach served as organist with Mrs. Edmund Jonason as soloist.
Pallbearers were: Orloo Enerson, Axel Johnson, Fred Berglund, Edmund Jonason, Carlton Anderson and Theodore Gabrielson
