Deceased Name: Maxine Ottilia (Carlson) Armstrong
Maxine Ottilia (Carlson) Armstrong, 87, formerly of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at Evergreen Terrace in Grand Rapids, Minn. She was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Cloquet to Henning and Edith (Peterson) Carlson and graduated from Cloquet High School. Maxine worked as a secretary for the Potlatch Corporation for over 30 years. She was longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Cloquet, a member of the Pine Needle Quilters, the Cloquet Bouquet Club, and enjoyed hardanger art with her friends.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Kavanaugh; granddaughters, Jennifer Kunze-Mostoller and Christine Voss; one sister, Beatrice (Marvin) Nelson; one brother, Donald Carlson.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 4, from noon until the 1 p.m. memorial service at Zion Lutheran Church in Cloquet, followed by an inurnment service at Maple Grove Cemetery. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow in the church social hall.
